## Filing: What you file and where

The business registers with the food control authority of the municipality where it operates. Online selling is stated on the form.

Municipalities charge a registration fee set by their own tariff, and a fee for inspections.

There is no product notification. You do not send each supplement to the Swedish Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket) before launch.

If your business is based in another country, it usually registers there, and your importer or distributor in Sweden registers with its municipality.

## Label: Your label

The label is in Swedish. Another language is only accepted if it differs very little from Swedish. The business whose name is on the pack is responsible for what it says. A brand based outside the EU needs an EU importer.

Powders sold as ordinary food, such as a protein powder, follow the general food label rules. Products sold as food supplements also need the items below.

- The word "kosttillskott"
- The names of the nutrients or substances in the product
- The recommended daily dose
- A warning not to exceed the recommended daily dose
- A statement that food supplements should not replace a varied diet
- A statement to keep the product out of reach of young children
- The amount of each nutrient per daily dose, and % of the reference value for vitamins and minerals

## Our part: What we do

Your products are made by specialist producers. We draft the Swedish label to the rules of your market and send you a mock-up.

You check it and file your registration with the municipality. Nothing goes to print until you approve the label.

## Timing: Timing

You may start trading two weeks after your registration reaches the municipality, or sooner if you receive the registration decision first.

Starting without registering can lead to a sanction fee, so file early in your launch plan.

## How it works: Five steps to your own product.

1. Send your logo and website. Tell us the format and roughly how much you want. Your logo and your website are the brief.
2. See it on the real pack. We send a mock-up of your label on the real pack, so you see the product before anything is made.
3. Samples, then your order. You check samples first. When you are happy with them, you place your order.
4. Pay upfront. Our ready drink and stock formats are paid upfront by bank transfer.
5. We label, pack and ship. We label, pack and ship your products under your brand.

## What we need from you

- Your logo, as a vector file if you have one.
- Your website or social page, so the label matches your brand.
- The format and flavour you have in mind.
- The quantity you want to start with.
- The countries where you will sell.

## Questions

### Do I notify each supplement in Sweden?

No. Sweden has no notification system for food supplements today. The business registers with the municipality.

### How long before trading do I register?

At least two weeks. You may start two weeks after the registration reaches the municipality, or earlier if you have the decision.

### Can I use a Norwegian or Danish label?

Not as a rule. The label must be in Swedish, and a similar language is only accepted case by case.

### Who is responsible for the label?

The business whose name the product is sold under. If that business is outside the EU, the importer is responsible.

### Is there a fee?

Yes, each municipality sets its own registration and inspection fees.
